Burn CD or DVD with Recorder

Recorder is really simple and easy to use disc burner. With Recorder, you can burn Data CD, Audio CD, Data DVD, DVD Video, and ISO image.

Installing Recorder

  1. Recorder requires pygtk, cdrkit or cdrtools, and dvd+rw-tools. On Ubuntu 8.04, you can run the following command: sudo apt-get install python-gtk2 wodim dvd+rw-tools
  2. Download the latest version of Recorder from here, save to your desktop.
  3. Installing Recorder: cd ~/Desktop tar jxvf recorder-1.3.3.tar.bz2 cd recorder-1.3.3 sudo make install

Recorder configuration

  1. Click Applications → Sound & Video → Recorder. This will open Recorder window.
  2. Click Edit → Preferences.
  3. After Path to your driver, type: /dev/cdrom
  4. Click OK

    I’m glad that you like it. For the next release I will add support for VCD and SVCD discs and mp3 and ogg files in CD Audio mode.
