WTG Engineering & Support is part of Global Service Organization. We are spread across the world supporting the Service and Construction organizations with technical knowledge and acting as the link between VPS and local business units.
One of the main tasks of the department includes: providing direct support to the Service and construction organization with regard to technical support to perform the service and construction activities. Also, the department is responsible for technical support to non Vestas Turbines operation and maintenance.
You will be part of a team which provides technical support to Service and Construction teams on diagnostics of wind turbines. Your tasks are mainly from (but not limited to) India. You may also receive tasks from other region of the world.
Key Accountabilities & Success Criteria :
Provide 1st level technical support to Service and Construction and ensure continuous improvement of trouble shooting support within the service and construction operation.
Ensure thorough technical/statistical WTG stop analysis support incl. recommended spare parts for error remedy.
Provide support to Construction in installation, commissioning and start-up of wind turbines
Provide support to service operation on resolution of turbine alarms / alerts.
On request from Sales provide technical input to support sales of WTGs and Service products.
At the request from Service/Construction, liaise with clients to facilitate resolution of technical issues to ensure increased customer satisfaction and support long-term business growth.
Provide translation support of technical matters on a need basis.
Liaise with other technical staff throughout the company (worldwide) as part of solving technical issues.
Provide trouble-shooting support to field technicians.
Actively convert knowledge into business value.
Analyse poor performing wind turbines / wind farms and provide solutions.
When needed identify spare parts and documentation
Push troubleshooting knowledge to the field by documenting known solutions in Vestas Global Advisor (VGA)
Ensure correct SW and parameter settings for windfarms.
Compile SW suggestions. Coordinate and give assistance in SW field test
Remote Software upload
Bachelor degree in Engineering Mechanical / Electrical (Master degree is welcome)
8-10 years' experience in trouble shooting / technical support in wind turbine industry, preferably in Vestas turbines
Fluency in written and spoken English language
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting technical skills with emphasis on root cause analysis
Able to multitask and prioritize daily work under a fast paced environment
Ability to priorities tasks in accordance with business objectives.
Ability to develop networks internationally to develop own knowledge base and solve technical issues.
Experienced in dealing with often demanding customers.
Flexible, adaptable, problem solving.
Good communication and presentation skills
