Open Source Project Logo Font Collections

I am a fan of open source and free software. I am also fan of font. The open source project logo font is always interesting for me. After googling, I have finally got the following results.

  • Ubuntu ubuntu-logo This font is Ubuntu-Title. It was made using Inkscape and FontForge. In Ubuntu, you can install it with the following command: sudo apt-get install ttf-ubuntu-title You can also download the font directly from the Ubuntu Wiki website.
  • Debian debian-logo This font is Laudatio BQ Condensed. It is a commercial font. For more information, you can click here.
  • openSUSE opensuse-logo This font is Cholla. It’s also commercial font. For more information, you can click here.
  • Fedora fedora-logo This font is Bryant2. It is not a free font. For more information refer to this message on fedora-art-list. You can also click here.
  • GNOME gnome-logo This font is a hand-tweaked version of Bitstream Vera Sans. In Ubuntu, you can install Bitstream Vera Sans with this command: sudo apt-get install ttf-bitstream-vera You can also download the font directly from the GNOME FTP website.
  • KDE kde-logo This font is Kabel Book. You can download it here.
  • Firefox firefox-logo This font is Meta Bold LF-Roman. For more information, you can click here.

    I don’t think the Bryant 2 font is correct for fedora. this demo of the font renders a different looking letter “a”… ttp://www.processtypefoundry.com/fonts/bryant-2/try-it
