Have you installed Compiz Fusion on Linux? Here’s a quite useful tip. With it, you can make applications menu transparency. That’s look very cool. This quick tip shows how you can configure menu transparency in Compiz Fusion.

To configure menu transparency, you can execute the following steps:

  1. Press Alt + F2, and enter “ccsm”, then click Run button.
  2. Click General Options, and switch to Opacity Setting.
  3. Expand Window opacities, and click Add button.
  4. Enter “Tooltip | Menu | PopupMenu | DropdownMenu” in opened dialog box, and setting value “95″.

Have a look at the Compiz Fusion Wiki: http://wiki.compiz-fusion.org/WindowMatching

For example you could use “title=Buddy List” and setting value “95″.
