Gloobus is a very cool application. With Gloobus, you can quickly preview various files in Ubuntu, including TXT, PDF, JPG, BMP, GIF, PNG, PSD, MP3, OGG, MPG, WMV, XCF, and so on.

Installation

To install Gloobus on Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty, you can execute the following steps:

  1. Add the Gloobus repository to your sources.list:

    $ sudo sh -c "echo 'deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/tualatrix/gloobus/ubuntu jaunty main' >> /etc/apt/sources.list"

  2. Add the GPG key:

    $ sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys 0624A220

  3. Now update sources:

    $ sudo aptitude update

  4. Install Gloobus:

    $ sudo aptitude install gloobus-preview

    I tried this on Ubuntu Karmic, but only EoG opens when I hit space. Will this not work for Karmic?
